[06-12-2023] Santa Barbara County, CA – At Least Two People Injured Following Solo-Vehicle Crash East of Santa Maria

One person sustained severe injuries while another sustained minor injuries after a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 166, east of Santa Maria, on Monday morning, June 12, 2023.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the Los Padres National Forest Fire Management, the incident happened on Highway 166, about 40 miles east of Highway 101, at around 10:50 a.m.

There is no information regarding the events that led up to the crash. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

At least one person was seriously injured and required a Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit helicopter to be transported to a hospital. Another person sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital by American Medical Response ambulance.

It is uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a part in this incident.
