[06-30-2023] 1 Man Killed After Crash Caused by Suspected Drunk Wrong-Way Driver on River RoadA man was killed in a crash caused by a suspected drunk wrong-way driver in Sacramento on Friday evening, June 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on River Road, South of Hood, around 7:30 p.m.

The suspected drunk driver on River Road veered into the opposite lane in the path of oncoming traffic. The victim swerved to avoid a head-on collision but crashed in the process.

The man did not survive the crash. The victim’s identity is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

The suspect was arrested on charges of suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

No information was released regarding the suspect’s identity.
