[08-06-2023] Santa Clara County, CA – Female Pedestrian Killed Following SUV Collision on Monroe Street

A female pedestrian was killed after a collision with an SUV in Santa Clara on Sunday morning, August 6, 2023.

According to the Santa Clara Police Department, the incident occurred on Monroe Street, near Lawrence Expressway, at around 1:30 a.m.

The woman, who was believed to be between 25-35 years old, was walking on the street in a crosswalk when a Honda SUV struck her. The driver, a 49-year-old man from Campbell, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity could not be determined. She was of average height and weight, had blue eyes, brown hair, and several tattoos.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the incident.
