A 50-year-old cyclist was struck by a car while at a crosswalk Thursday evening in Southeast Fresno, August 17, 2023.
Fresno police arrived at the scene, where the accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. at the Jensen and East Avenues intersection.
Upon investigation, authorities found that the man was riding his bike and attempted to cross a crosswalk when the traffic lights for the vehicle were green, resulting in the collision.
The bicyclist was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities accordingly.
No statement regarding the driver’s condition was given, and the Fresno Police did not give any further information as the investigation continued.
