[08-19-2023] Stanislaus County, CA – 37-Year-Old Killed, 2 Others Injured After DUI Driver Crashes In Tully Road Modesto

A driver was killed, and two others were injured on Saturday afternoon after a DUI driver crashed twice along Tully Road in Modesto, Stanislaus County, on August 19, 2023.

The Modesto police and fire department responded to an initial car crash around 5:00 p.m., where a GMC Yukon collided with a vehicle on Tully Road and Briggsmore Avenue and proceeded to drive.

A second crash occured shortly after at 5:20 south of Tully Road and Oakwood Drive, just south of Orangeburg Avenue, killing the 37-year-old driver.

The crash caused the Yukon to overturn and eject the 37-year-old. Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, but he died shortly after. Two other victims involved only sustained minor injuries.

Authorities indicate that alcohol played a factor in this incident.

The identity of the Yukon driver was not released.
