A male and a female pedestrian were hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision in Bakersfield on Sunday morning, August 27, 2023.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred in the 600 block of Baker Street just after midnight.

The authorities were responding to a traffic collision report on Baker Street, where they found a man and a woman lying on the road. It was determined that the pedestrians were crossing the road when a white, four-door SUV backed up into them, running them down.
