[09-30-2023] Stanislaus County, CA – 20-Year-Old Passenger Died, Two Others Injured After ATV Crash in Modesto

A 20-year-old passenger died and two others were injured following an overturned ATV crash in Modesto on Saturday afternoon, September 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Chicago Avenue, west of South Carpenter Road.

Reports say that a 14-year-old boy was driving a 2022 Can-Am off-road vehicle when he tried to do a U-turn and lost control, causing the ATV to turn over.

Four people were reportedly involved in the crash. This includes 20-year-old Sael B., who died at the scene due to severe injuries, and two other passengers who sustained minor injuries: a 19-year-old Jordan H., who was taken to Doctors Medical Center, and 21-year-old Jared L., who was treated at the scene.

The driver was not injured, and his identity was not disclosed because he is a minor.

The CHP confirmed drugs and alcohol were not seen as factors in the crash. No further information was provided as of this time.
