A 28-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in El Cajon on Monday morning, October 16, 2023.
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the collision occurred before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Roanoke Road.
The police responded to the scene and found an unresponsive female pedestrian reportedly struck by a 2016 Kia Soul. The authorities administered CPR before the victim was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of her next of kin. There was no information regarding whether the vehicle’s driver remained at the scene or fled.
It appeared that neither alcohol nor narcotics played a role in the incident. Information about the collision’s cause will be released as the investigation continues.
