A 23-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Joseph C. was killed after colliding with a vehicle on Highway 1 near Lompoc on Wednesday evening, October 25, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of the incident around 5:45 p.m. south of Highway 246.
According to officers, Joseph C. was riding his 2015 Yamaha at around 55 mph, heading southbound on the highway, when his motorcycle drifted into the oncoming lane around a curve and directly in front of a 2022 Tesla.
Authorities stated that he was killed on impact and died at the scene, while the 38-year-old female driver of the Tesla sustained minor injuries.
Further investigations into the incident are currently being conducted. Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with the local authorities.
