[02-29-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – 7-Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured Following Dog Attack in Victorville

A 7-year-old girl was seriously injured following a dog attack in Victorville on Thursday morning, February 29, 2024.

According to the Victorville Police Department, the incident occurred at around 7:02 a.m. in the 13800 block of Mesa Linda Avenue, approaching Mesa Linda Middle School.

Authorities said that the girl was on her way to school alongside another child when an unknown dog attacked them. The attack only stopped when a concerned citizen helped out the children, chasing off the animal.

The 7-year-old girl sustained multiple injuries after getting bit and was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment. The other child was able to run safely and was reportedly uninjured.

A local Animal Control unit was called to the scene. It is unclear if the dog was wild or in the care of someone from the area.
