[02-29-2024] Riverside County, CA – One Person Killed, Two Others Injured Following Truck Vs. SUV Collision on SR-74

One person was killed, and two others were injured following a truck vs. SUV collision on State Route 74, Riverside County, on Thursday afternoon, February 29, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 12:30 p.m. on SR-74 near Vista Point.

Authorities reported that a 75-year-old man and an older woman were in a white Subaru Crosstrek going down the mountain when they crossed over double solid lines. The vehicle then collided with a tow truck in the oncoming lane.

Police said that the man driving the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the woman in the Subaru and the driver of the tow truck were transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center with injuries.

As of now, there has been no additional information about the incident. Anyone who has witnessed the crash is urged to contact CHP at 760-772-5307.
