[03-14-2024] Kern County, CA – Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in South Bakersfield

A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in south Bakersfield on Thursday night, March 14, 2024.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision happened around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Cottonwood Road and East Pacheco Road.

Authorities stated that the driver of a white pick-up truck was traveling northbound in the 4700 block of Cottonwood Road at an unknown speed. At the same time, the woman was walking eastbound when she was hit by the vehicle.

The victim sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the responding officials.
