At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 26000 block of Gading Road.

Upon arrival, they found a man who had fainted on the ground, and a vehicle had struck him while making a turn in the area. The driver reportedly did not see the man before hitting him.

The pedestrian was conscious and breathing when officers spoke with him at the scene, but his condition worsened after being taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver, a 52-year-old Hayward resident, was cooperative with police. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity.
