A man was killed following a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 152 in Merced County on Saturday evening, March 15, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene around 6:00 p.m. just east of Dinosaur Point, near Pacheco State Park.
Authorities reported that the victim was driving a Nissan westbound on Highway 152 when his vehicle broke down in the number three lane. Shortly after, a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction failed to see the stalled car and crashed into it.
The impact caused the Nissan driver to be ejected from the vehicle. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. CHP stated that alcohol or drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
