[03-15-2025] Driver Critically Injured After Hit-And-Run Rollover Crash on I-15 in VictorvilleA driver sustained critical injuries after a rollover crash caused by a hit-and-run on northbound Interstate 15 in Victorville early Saturday morning, March 15, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 5:27 a.m., just north of Bear Valley Road.

The victim’s vehicle, a black Crown Victoria, was struck by another car, which fled the scene. The impact caused the Crown Victoria to roll over onto its side, coming to rest approximately 100-200 feet off the roadway.

Emergency responders extricated the driver before transporting him to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Apple Valley due to the severity of his injuries.

Initially, a helicopter from Mercy Air 2 was requested for air transport, but paramedics later determined the driver was too unstable to be airlifted.

Further investigation led authorities to a Volkswagen Jetta found in the parking lot of the GreenTree Inn on Mariposa Road, just south of Palmdale Road. The vehicle had deployed airbags and was confirmed to be involved in the hit-and-run. The driver of the Jetta was detained at the scene.

The CHP continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
