A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Carlsbad Boulevard near Island Way in Carlsbad early Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 4:57 a.m. when a northbound vehicle hit a pedestrian standing in the roadway.
The driver immediately stopped and attempted to provide aid until emergency responders arrived. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital, but they later succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim. Investigators believe that impairment did not play a role in the crash.
