[08-06-2025] Los Angeles County, CA โ€“ Pedestrian Killed in Collision with Toyota Corolla in Long Beach

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a Toyota Corolla while walking a bicycle in Long Beach on Wednesday evening, August 6, 2025.

The collision occurred around 6:05 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Place and Wardlow Road.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find Long Beach Fire Department personnel providing medical aid to the victim. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, who was walking a bicycle eastbound across Pacific Place outside of a crosswalk, was struck by a 2012 Toyota Corolla traveling northbound.

Police confirmed that the driver stopped at the scene and did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, nor was excessive speed a factor.

The investigation into the crash continues.
