Two people were transported to hospitals following a collision between a sedan and an SUV in South Taft, Kern County, on Sunday evening, September 21, 2025.
According to Kern County firefighters, the crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Crystal Street and Shattuck Avenue.
The SUV landed on its side while the sedan remained upright but sustained major front-end damage. Of the nine total occupants in both vehicles, two required emergency transport โ one with moderate injuries and one with minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities noted that Crystal and Shattuck is an uncontrolled intersection, with right-of-way granted to the first vehicle entering the intersection. Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
