A man visiting from out of state was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Palm Canyon Drive near Via Las Palmas in Palm Springs on Friday night, September 26, 2025.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:35 p.m. The pedestrian was crossing eastbound in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a southbound vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crosswalk is equipped with a lighting system intended to alert drivers of pedestrians, which was not used at the time of the crash.
Police reported that neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor. Authorities have not released additional identifying information for the pedestrian or the driver.
The investigation is ongoing.
