Truck Accident Statistics

Large trucks are essential for transporting goods, but their size and weight make collisions with passenger vehicles particularly dangerous. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), there were approximately 5,375 fatal crashes involving large trucks in 2023, marking an 8.4% decrease from 2022.

Despite this recent decline, fatal truck crashes have increased by 43% over the past decade. While short-term improvements are promising, long-term trends show a steady rise in deadly incidents involving large trucks, highlighting the ongoing risks these vehicles pose on U.S. roads.
