[12-22-2025] Fresno County, CA – 19-Year-Old Killed in Crash Involving Semi-Truck on Manning Avenue

A 19-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Manning Avenue near South Riverside Avenue west of Fresno on Monday evening, December 22, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Manning Avenue was sideswiped by an eastbound Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck that veered into the westbound lane.

The impact forced the pickup truck off the roadway, where it overturned multiple times and came to rest on its roof. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Mattix S., a 19-year-old from Kingsburg. CHP said the driver of the Freightliner was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities reported that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
