[01-09-2026] Orange County, CA – Woman in Wheelchair Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on N. Grand Ave.

A 55-year-old woman in a wheelchair, identified as Sabrina D., was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana, Friday evening, January 9, 2026.

The Santa Ana Police Department said the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 600 block of N. Grand Avenue.

Officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to the scene and found the woman lying in the roadway with severe injuries.

Paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

Investigators stated that the woman was crossing Grand Avenue westbound when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Authorities later confirmed that the driver returned to the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
