[02-25-2025] Stanislaus County, CA – Cyclist Fatally Injured in Vehicle Crash on Sylvan Ave. in Modesto

A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in Modesto on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025.

The Modesto Police Department reported that the incident occurred at around 7:36 p.m. at the intersection of Sylvan Avenue and Wood Sorrel Drive.

Investigators stated that a vehicle traveling along Sylvan Avenue struck the bicyclist as he was crossing the road near the intersection.

Responding officers found the victim suffering from critical injuries. Despite emergency lifesaving measures, he died at the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
