[10-20-2025] Orange County, CA – One Bicyclist Killed, Two Others Injured in Crash on Newland St. in Huntington Beach

One bicyclist was killed, and two others were seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Huntington Beach on Monday morning, October 20, 2025.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the driver of a vehicle struck three bicyclists just before 7:00 a.m. on Newland Street.

An official report stated that one cyclist, identified as 45-year-old Eric John W. of Garden Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other cyclists suffered from serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.

Police identified the suspect driver as 43-year-old Amber C. of Long Beach, who was driving a gold 2006 Mercedes E-Class. Authorities said that the driver was located about a half-mile away from the scene after she stopped and was taken into custody.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI, and possession of narcotics.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
