[02-18-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By SUV on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

A 39-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach on Wednesday night, February 18, 2026.

According to Long Beach police, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Maine Avenue when a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, traveling eastbound, hit the pedestrian as he was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification to his family.

The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police said speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving were not believed to be factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
