[03-14-2026] Madera County, CA – 66-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle at Vineyard Ave and 6th St

A 66-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Vineyard Avenue and 6th Street in Madera on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026.

According to the Madera Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. when the driver of a vehicle was heading east on 6th Street. The driver briefly stopped at the stop sign on Vineyard Avenue before continuing through the intersection, while the pedestrian was walking north in the west crosswalk.

Despite life-saving measures being administered at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead. Detectives confirmed that the driver stayed and is cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
