[04-04-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man Killed After Being Struck By SUV in Long Beach

A man was killed after being struck by an SUV in Long Beach on Saturday night, April 4, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched at 7:55 p.m. to the area of Pacific Place and West Wardlow Road, where they found the pedestrian in the roadway. Arriving paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling southbound on Pacific Place in the number one lane when the vehicle struck the victim, who was walking in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.

Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police also stated that speed, distracted driving, and driving under the influence are not believed to have been factors in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
