[08-25-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Driver Killed in Collision With Semi-Truck on Highway 1 South of Lompoc

A passenger vehicle driver was killed in a collision with a semi-truck south of Lompoc on Tuesday afternoon, August 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 2:20 p.m. on Highway 1 at Jalama Road.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries. Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the deceased driver.

Lompoc Fire Department, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, and American Medical Response personnel also responded to the collision.

Initial reports indicated that the semi-truck was leaking an unknown fluid onto the roadway.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal incident.
