[09-11-2026] Colusa County, CA – One Killed, Another Hospitalized in Fiery Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 20

A 49-year-old Lakeport man was killed, and a 42-year-old semi-truck driver was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 between Colusa and Williams on Friday morning, September 11, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 8:00 a.m. on State Route 20 east of Lone Star Road.

CHP officers said the 49-year-old man was driving a 1995 Honda westbound on SR 20 when the vehicle veered into the oncoming lane in front of a 2024 International semi-truck.

The front of the Honda collided with the front of the semi-truck. Following the impact, both vehicles came to rest across the highway and caught fire shortly afterward.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead. The semi-truck driver, a 42-year-old Yuba City man, was transported to a hospital. Authorities did not provide information about the extent of his injuries. The full identities of both drivers have not been released.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
