[11-04-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Boy Killed, Father Severely Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in South LA

A 7-year-old boy was killed, and his 39-year-old father sustained severe injuries after being struck by vehicles in South Los Angeles on Wednesday night, November 4, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Figueroa Street, just south of 77th Street.

Investigators said the father and son were struck after the child ran into the roadway. The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

A second vehicle, described as a dark-colored, four-door sedan, subsequently struck the boy and fled without stopping to provide assistance or identify the driver, according to LAPD.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported both victims to a nearby hospital. The boy later died from his injuries, while his father sustained severe injuries.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the hit-and-run driver. A reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the driver’s identification, apprehension, and conviction, or resolution through a civil compromise under the city’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program.
