According to the California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old pedestrian was killed by a GMC truck in McFarland on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

According to California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old man was walking on Sherwood Avenue, west of Garzoli Avenue, outside of a crosswalk, and was struck by a 2004 GMC Sierra.

According to CHP, the 17-year-old driver initially fled the accident scene before returning.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

There are no other details available.

According to CHP, the use of drugs or alcohol is still being investigated.
