[04-02-2022] Kern County, CA – 29-Year-Old Person Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in McFarland

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old pedestrian was killed by a GMC truck in McFarland on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

The fatal accident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Sherwood Avenue, west of Garzoli Avenue.

According to California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old man was walking on Sherwood Avenue, west of Garzoli Avenue, outside of a crosswalk, and was struck by a 2004 GMC Sierra.

According to CHP, the 17-year-old driver initially fled the accident scene before returning.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
