Officers discovered the body of a person who had been struck by at least one vehicle when they arrived.
Cistaro said the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office’s coroner’s bureau were on the scene late Thursday.

The right-hand lanes of the highway were shut down until the Sig-alert was lifted at 10:27 p.m.
