According to the Chula Vista Police Department, one pedestrian was killed in a fatal traffic collision on Saturday evening, June 11, 2022.
According to Lt. Scott Adams, the crash occurred around 11:22 p.m. in the 500 block of Naples Street.
According to Lt. Adams, multiple calls indicated that the pedestrian was in the roadway following the crash, and police attempted to provide lifesaving measures when they arrived.
Despite their efforts, the female victim died at the scene.
The identity of the woman who was killed is being withheld until her family is informed.
According to CVPD officials, the suspect fled the scene and is currently on the run.
Officers from the Traffic Bureau were dispatched to the scene, and the incident is still being investigated.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
