According to the authorities, a Tesla driver was driving when his car went airborne and killed a pedestrian woman out walking in Kearny Mesa Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
The fatal pedestrian collision occurred Tuesday morning near Othello Avenue in Kearny.
According to police, Frank S., 39, ran a red light and hit and killed the woman, who has yet to be identified, while she was walking near Convoy Street on Tuesday morning.
The Tesla slammed into a woman on the sidewalk near Othello Avenue, smashed a no-parking sign, and came to a halt in a KFC drive-thru, losing one of his wheels in the process.
Shoaf admitted to running a red light, hitting a dip, and then flying through the air before colliding with the pedestrian, according to police.
