An unidentified pedestrian was killed after a woman driving a stolen car crashed into him while walking in a crosswalk in a South Los Angeles neighborhood early Thursday, June 16, 2022.
The crash occurred early Thursday at Florence and Central avenues in the Florence-Graham area.
According to police, the victim, a man in his twenties, was thrown onto the hood and through the windshield of a 2002 Toyota Avalon.
At least three parked cars were damaged in the crash, and the 41-year-old driver was arrested on the spot. One of the vehicles ended up on its side.
The vehicles were towed away from the accident site on Thursday morning.
Earlier, police had been pursuing the car, but they backed off and used a police helicopter to track it down. When the car crashed, officers were about four blocks away.
The authorities are seeking witnesses.
