[06-30-2022] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Struck and Suffered Serious Injuries in Mission Valley

According to SDPD, a man was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a car while attempting to cross Mission Valley Road Thursday, June 30, 2022.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. along the shoulder of Hotel Circle South on Mission Valley Road.

The 55-year-old man was allegedly walking along Hotel Circle South’s shoulder when, for an unspecified reason, he darted across traffic and was hit by a 30-year-old man operating a 2011 Honda CRV.

The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with serious head injuries, according to Officer Robert Heims.

The driver was unharmed in the collision.

Investigations into the collision are still ongoing.
