According to the California Highway Patrol, multiple two-vehicle crashes injured several people and closed down part of Highway 99 in Madera Tuesday morning, July 12, 2022.
According to CHP, the crashes occurred at about 1:45 a.m. on Highway 99 and Madera Avenue.
When the second collision occurred, police officers were already on their way to the scene of the first collision.
There were three vehicles total: two automobiles and a tractor-trailer.
According to the officers, there were serious injuries.
During approximately two hours it took for law enforcement to clear the scene, lanes were closed off.
The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the collision.
