According to the authorities, a 50-year-old pedestrian woman was hit and killed by a truck in North Fresno Thursday, July 14, 2022.
The fatal collision transpired just after midnight Thursday on Blackstone and Ashlan.
The police identified the 50-year-old as Raquel S. of Fresno was struck by the driver after stepping out into traffic.
Sigarroa was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver came to a stop and was cooperative with the police officers.
However, the police have not yet determined whether or not alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident; however, it does appear that speed was a factor.
During the investigation, Blackstone Boulevard’s northbound lanes were closed to traffic.
