[07-14-2022] Riverside County, CA - 74-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Cathedral CityA 74-year-old Palm Springs man was hospitalized with moderate injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Cathedral City Thursday, July 14, 2022.

According to Sgt Mark Robles of the Cathedral City Police Department, the crash transpired at 10:14 p.m. on East Palm Canyon Drive, east of Cree Road.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying in the westbound lanes of East Palm Canyon Drive with moderate injuries.

In order to provide medical assistance, firefighters from the Cathedral City Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the pedestrian to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

When they arrived on the scene, the police reported that the victim was emitting “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.”

At the time of the collision, witnesses claimed the driver was following the speed limit and had not veered out of her lane. According to police, she was not hurt and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The collision is being looked into by the Cathedral City Police Department.
