[08-01-2022] San Diego County, CA – 47-year-old Man Was Severely Injured After an Electric Scooter Crash in University City

An unidentified 47-year-old man suffers severe injuries after a vehicle and electric scooter crash on a University City street Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on eastbound Nobel Drive of Regents Road.

According to the local authorities, the Bird two-wheeler veered into the oath of the Hyundai Elantra traveling in the west while the rider was attempting to turn left from eastbound Nobel Drive onto Regents Road against a red light.

The paramedics transported the man to a hospital to treat his severe injuries, including head trauma and cervical fractures.

According to the police, there is no evidence linking the collision to DUI.
