[08-04-2022] Los Angeles County, California- 6 Killed, 8 Injured after fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash at L.A. Gas Station

According to the California Highway Patrol, at least six people were killed, and eight were injured when a Mercedes driver ran a red light and collided with several other vehicles at an intersection in Windsor Hills on Thursday, August 04, 2022.

The collision occurred around 1:40 p.m. at South La Brea and Slauson avenues.

According to authorities, the Mercedes traveled high speed and struck several vehicles in the intersection without braking. The vehicles then collided in a ball of fire into a gas station.

According to the CHP, six people were declared dead at the scene. According to authorities, a pregnant woman, her unborn child, and an infant were among those killed.

CHP spokesman Franco Pepi said that at least six to seven vehicles were involved. Three of them were engulfed in flames.

The CHP was investigating the cause of the crash, but Pepi confirmed that the driver was a 40-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries while driving a two-door Mercedes traveling at a high speed southbound on La Brea.

At this time, the reasons for the high speed are still unknown.
