[07-19-2022] Kern County, CA - One Person Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on TruxtunAccording to the Bakersfield Police Department, an unidentified pedestrian was killed after being struck by a maintenance vehicle on Truxtun Avenue on Tuesday morning, July 19, 2022.

According to BPD, the crash occurred just before 4:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Truxtun Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, a woman was struck by a Hall’s Ambulance maintenance vehicle after crossing the street in the middle of the block and outside of a crosswalk.

The woman was brought to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

According to BPD, the maintenance vehicle’s driver stayed on the scene and assisted with the investigation.
According to BPD, the crash does not appear to have been caused by speed, alcohol, or drugs.

The crash remains under investigation.
