One unidentified person was killed after a deadly head-on traffic collision at Highway 41 on Tuesday afternoon, July 20.

[07-20-2021] Fresno County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly Head-On Collision at Highway 41According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 41 and Friant Avenue. A southbound Hyundai driven by a man in his 40’s veered over the center divider for unknown reasons and went into the northbound lanes.

The Hyundai then collided head-on with a northbound SUV that was exiting the northbound lanes. It was unclear what caused the Hyundai driver to go into the northbound lanes. The Hyundai driver sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver sustained minor injuries. He was not taken to an area hospital anymore. It is unclear whether intoxication played a role in the accident. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the collision.
