A driver and a passenger were killed following a collision involving multiple vehicles in Sacramento on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022.

A Nissan driven by a 19-year-old man was initially traveling on Highway 160 when, for unclear reasons, it veered into the opposite lanes and crashed into a 2016 Toyota Rav 4 and a 2021 GMC Sierra.

The Nissan driver and her 48-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the other two drivers sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
