What To Do After Being Injured In A Pedestrian Accident

Our skilled personal injury attorneys highly suggest you take the following steps in case you get involved in a pedestrian accident, but only if you are still able to do so. Taking these steps will help ensure your safety and protect your legal rights to fair compensation:

  • Prioritize Safety — Move to the side of the road to avoid further harm if you can do so. Check yourself and others involved for any injuries.
  • Notify The Police — Call 911. Report what happened to the authorities. Ask for the official police report later on, as this is an important document for your claim.
  • Collect Evidence — Take pictures and videos of the accident scene, your injuries, and other damages. Collect contact information from the driver and nearby witnesses. These can serve as evidence for your claim.
  • Do Not Admit Fault — Even simple statements like “I’m sorry” can be used against you by insurers to downplay your losses and damages. You must be careful with what you say at the scene or to insurance companies.
  • Get Medical Care — Go to your doctor for a more thorough medical evaluation and treatment, even if your injuries seem minor or you feel fine. Medical records document your injuries and are critical for your claim.
  • Contact Pedestrian Accident Attorneys — Call our lawyers for pedestrian accidents to discuss your case. Our pedestrian accident lawyers will take care of your claim, help you navigate the complex legal process, and pursue the justice and full compensation you deserve.
