[01-31-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Single-Car Collision in Johnson Valley Left One Person Killed, Two Other Occupants Injured

A 28-year-old was pronounced dead, and two others were injured after a single-vehicle crash in San Bernardino County on Tuesday night, January 31, 2023.

Reports indicated that the fatal collision occurred around 5:20 p.m. in the Johnson Valley off-highway vehicle area.

According to authorities, a Polariss ZR with three people inside was heading northbound in the Better Sand Dunes.

The vehicle rolled over several times after cresting a hill. Everyone in the car wore helmets and harnesses.

The rear passenger, a 28-year-old Yucaipa woman, died after being airlifted to Morongo Basin Ambulance nearby.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old driver and 24-year-old front passenger were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate and significant injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
