[02-01-2023] Male Pedestrian Killed in Irwindale Hit-and-Run CrashA male pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Irwindale on Wednesday morning, February 01, 2023.

According to the Irwindale Police Department, the fatal crash occurred before 9:24 p.m. at the Live Oak Avenue and Speedway Drive intersection.

Responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared the victim died due to traumatic injuries sustained after being struck by a car reportedly traveling east on Live Oak.

The suspect driver, identified as Pomona resident Patricia L., 50, fled the scene but was later arrested the following morning. She was detained and charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter while her car was impounded.

Both directions of Live Oak between Arrow Highway and the 605 Freeway were shut down due to the crash before reopening.
