Multi-Vehicle Accident Statistics
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration receives a report of a car accident in the United States every minute (NHTSA). California’s highways are deadly, killing an estimated 3,000 people annually in traffic-related accidents.
According to the National Safety Council, more than 110,000 Americans lose their lives in automotive accidents each year. Since 1990, there have been 3,898 fatalities and 2,711,000 injuries attributed to automobile accidents in California. Since 2013, the death rate has risen by an average of 23.5% each year, and experts warn that this upward trend will only accelerate if the government does not take appropriate action to address it.
