The accident happened on the Riverside (91) Freeway at La Sierra Avenue at approximately 1:31 a.m.

Two vehicles collided head-on on the westbound lanes of the La Sierra Avenue freeway. One of the involved vehicles was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction.

Both vehicles sustained major damage following the crash. Meanwhile, several people were trapped in the wreckage and were extricated by firefighters.

Three people were critically injured in the mishap, while one person sustained moderate injuries and one sustained minor injuries. All five injured parties were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Information about the accident is limited at the moment. An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
