[02-06-2023] Alameda County, CA – Mother and Son Injured After Pedestrian Accident in Castro Valley

A mother and her son were injured after being struck by a vehicle in Castro Valley, Alameda County, on Monday morning, February 06, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian crash occurred at about 7:50 a.m. along Proctor Road near a Castro Valley school.

The 40-year-old woman and her 7-year-old son were reportedly walking down the sidewalk to the said school when a 38-year-old local resident driving an Infinity QX60 hit them.

The mother sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital while her child received minor wounds. Their identities and current condition remained unknown.

The driver that struck them remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. As the investigation continued, alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors.
